Project One redline set at 11.000 RPM | Engine 'rework' every 50.000 km

It's over 9000!!!!!

We already made a pretty extensive list of the technical details the upcoming AMG hypercar will feature, but even more, details popped up after Geneva. As thanks to Motoring we now know that the AMG Project One redline is set at almost 3 times what a standard diesel engine offers.

Eleven-thousand rotations are when the AMG Petronas V6 will be held back by the electronics, else the engine would need a rework far quicker than the 50.000 kilometers it is set at now. That fact was unearthed by Motoring in a chat with Mr. Moers. AMG'S biggest player also stated that the hypercar will benefit from 160hp pushed out by the electric engines on its front axle.

More and more pieces of this hypercar-puzzle are falling into their place. The Project One redline is known, the electrical engines their output is now out there, the price is known, and now we just need the rest. Before the car's reveal, set at this year's IAA, more news will undoubtedly pop up. There's still plenty of details we want to know: the downforce it will benefit from, or the total power output, or what that 50k rework actually means. Plenty of details indeed.
