New E-Class convertible arrives: no longer a disguised C-Class

The fourth flavor of E-Class has arrived

Mercedes-Benz has a tradition of launching each chassis variant separately nowadays, latest and final edition to their mid-sized family is the new E-Class convertible. Unveiled earlier today, the car will make its public debut in Geneva next week. There's no AMG variants as of yet, the E 400 topping off the lineup currently. Although the public has gotten used to the existence of an E-Class convertible, this car has very little to do with its predecessor. Mercedes even claims the new chassis gives the new E-Class convertible the same stiffness as its coupe-shaped sibling. It isn't just stiffness, as also the dimensions have changed. Now measuring over 12 centimeters more in length and nearly 8 centimeters in width, the handeling is claimed to have improved because of that growth.

Want more numbers? Good, here's some: the boot measures 310 liters with the roof down and 380 with it open. That roof can open and close up to speeds of 50 KPH, and does so in 20 seconds. Engines? More numbers! They range from the E 200, all the way up to the E 400. There's no AMG variants yet but with the new platform, hopes are up for one. Sick of those numbers? Good. Now buy one with the 12.3" inch dual-screen dash.
