Geneva 2017 | Yaris GRMN ready for war

Ready for a war for European markets

First branded as a WRC derivative, the hot hatch Yaris got blood pumping in the western world. Will we finally get a proper rally-inspired car again? Well, nope. What will get in 2018 (yes, that's a while from now) is the Yaris GRMN, and it promises very good things to come. Where GRNM is a relatively unknown term in the western markets, 'Gazoo Racing Masters of Nurburgring' is infamous in Asia. It is a brand associated with aggressive tuning, racing and couldn't be further from what the cursed Prius embodies.

So what did they do to the Yaris GRMN? Well the 1.8liter 4-cylinder will push out more than 210 horsepower using a compressor, the car will get a limited slip diff, bigger brakes, and the suspension will be honed for that true hot-hatch-feel. One you'll notice when you grab hold of the GT86 GRMN steering wheel in the Yaris.Sadly we'll have to wait until 2018 before all is officially confirmed for production, for now it promises good things to come. Let's hope they keep their promise.
